We had a lovely afternoon yesterday, joining in and being part of a nationwide celebration of ‘bringing communities together’. Lots of lovely food, both sweet and savoury, was donated and it was great to meet up with people and share news. Thanks to Theri for the wild flower arrangements and to Sue for putting up all the bunting. Also to Fran and helpers for manning the kitchen and supplying everyone with copious cups of tea! Theri thanked everyone for coming and detailed all the groups and various forthcoming events that are taking place in Llanteg. Being such a spread out village it needs effort on everyone’s part to come together and keep connected with people. It was commented on by some newer residents that ‘the people’ are the village’s best feature, and we certainly do try to get people together throughout the year with coffee mornings, book clubs, nature rambles and community walks, as well as other one-off events in the village hall.
This has now become an annual event in Llanteg and next year we will combine it with a history exhibition to celebrate 20 years of Llanteg History Society.
